The pressure is on! Toronto’s MICHELIN Guide for 2024 is set to be revealed this September and that means more stars will be awarded to some of the city’s best restaurants. Here’s what to know.
On September 18th, MICHELIN Guide will reveal its latest round-up of world-class restaurants, Bib Gourmand and MICHELIN Green Star winners.
“Mark your calendars for the 2024 Toronto MICHELIN Guide Ceremony, where we will celebrate and toast to the excellent chefs and restaurant teams who continue to raise the bar,” said Gwendal Poullennec, the International Director of the MICHELIN Guides.
“Since the initial selection in 2022, the famously anonymous Guide inspectors have seen and felt the passion and growth in the local gastronomy scene of Toronto.”

The Guide’s selection process follows Michelin’s historical methodology, based on five universal criteria, to ensure each destination’s selection equity and that includes: “1) quality products; 2) the harmony of flavours; 3) the mastery of cooking techniques; 4) the personality of the chef as expressed in the cuisine; 5) consistency between each visit (each restaurant is inspected several times a year) and throughout the menu.”
And these inspectors are anonymous so restaurants are unaware if and when these inspectors dined at their establishments.
Additionally, the Guide adds that “the famous One, Two and Three Stars identify establishments serving exceptional cuisine rich in flavour and infused with the personality of a talented chef,” and “The Bib Gourmand is a designation given to select restaurants that offer good quality food for good value.”
A number of notable and beloved restaurants were awarded stars and Bib Gourmands throughout the years but here’s to hoping for more stars.
