Toronto’s Christmas market is among the top five in the world for 2024

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! November is upon us and for those who love the holidays, that means one thing: Christmas and holiday markets are opening. Toronto’s Distillery Winter Village brings a mega dose of Christmas cheer to the city and others seem to agree, with the beloved market earning a spot among the top five in the world.

A recent study by InsureandGo looked at Google search data to find which holiday/Christmas markets had the biggest increase in searches as the season approaches and we have all the details.

The top trending Christmas markets 2024

“InsureandGo’s research analyzed which specific Christmas markets have seen the biggest jumps in online interest for 2024, compared to the same period in 2023,” shared the study.

Toronto’s Distillery Winter Village was the only Canadian market to crack the top 10, seeing the highest rise in interest out of any other festive market in the country.

The study shows that the Distillery Winter Village had a +125% increase compared to 2023.

“Despite only being scheduled to open on November 13th, searches for this Toronto Christmas market have been rising consistently, so visitors who are eager to attend the tree lighting ceremony on the opening day should book their tickets in advance,” says InsureandGo.

The Distillery Winter Village will have some special additions this season, including Taylor Swift-themed activations.

The Eras Tour will be in Toronto at the same time as the market, and visitors can enjoy experiences such as a “Swiftie Holiday Hunt” to win specially crafted friendship bracelets with Taylor Swift-themed cookies and friendship bracelets available for purchase, too.

There will also be an Indoor Santa’s Village where kids can meet Santa, sip on hot chocolate, and take a photo to bring home.

The decor is set to be as stunning as always, featuring a Christian Dior Parfums Christmas Tree and light projections over “snow-capped mountains”, trees, and a two-person sleigh among thousands of other lights and decorative pieces around the market.
