It’s officially April 8th and that means we will soon feast our eyes on a once-in-a-lifetime solar event! If you have yet to get your hands on ISO-approved total solar eclipse glasses, well you still have a chance. Toronto’s Distillery District will be selling them and here’s what to know.

The biggest celestial event of the century (at least we like to think so), will take place this Monday afternoon. And though some parts of Ontario are in the path of totality, Toronto unfortunately is not.

But that doesn’t mean we won’t get to see a partial solar eclipse! It is important to be wearing eye protective wear when staring at the sun though, so if you’re scrambling for some ISO-approved shades, make your way to the Distillery District.

Starting at 1 PM to 5 PM, the historic space will host a solar eclipse viewing party at the Après Ski Lounge.

Guests will have the chance to get comfy under blankets by the fire put, kick back and watch the solar event.

“Don’t miss this stellar combination of fireside fun and astral wonder. Join us to mark the end of Après and the beginning of an unforgettable memory,” shares The Distillery District in an Instagram post.

Organizers will be selling eclipse glasses for $5 each while supplies last.

Join in on the party and enjoy some delicious food and drinks from The Distillery Food Truck too.

Can’t make it? No worries! Toronto will have a number of total solar eclipse events at its parks and even the Zoo. And depending on where you go, you could even score some free solar eclipse glasses too.

If you’re looking for the big show along the path of totality, you can also check out a number of solar eclipse events in Ontario celebrating the big day.

Have fun out there and be safe!
