Toronto’s Christmas trail is returning & it’ll be even more spectacular this year

Ready for a road trip to the North Pole? Thankfully, you won’t have to travel too far because it’s coming right to us this year. The Canadian Tire Christmas Trail is returning for the third year in a row and you’ll see Santa’s village come to life from the warmth of your car.

In addition to thousands of twinkling lights, the 1.5 km trail will take you past bright interactive displays, carolers singing your favourite holiday songs, “magically curated Christmas vignettes,” including real elves making toys in Santa’s workshop.

This year, the experience will be bigger and more exciting than ever, with new interactive displays to see as you make your way along the trail.

You’ll spot tons of festive characters wandering among the gorgeous light displays and feel totally swept up in the holiday magic.

New to the trail this year is a traditional Christmas market display, where guests will travel through a festive tunnel passing by market huts, carolers, a skating rink, merry-go-round, and Ferris wheel.

There will also be a “day at the ski hill” display, featuring tobogganers and Santa enjoying an aprés-ski moment in a Muskoka chair.

And it wouldn’t be a holiday experience without a photo-opp with Santa, and this year’s backdrop will be a snowy winter wonderland leading to the big guy through the gates of the North Pole.

Tickets officially go on sale on November 6th, 2022 and must be reserved online. All the proceeds will be donated to the company’s Jumpstart Charities for children and youth.

This is not the only returning tradition that we have to look forward to.

Toronto will also welcome back the iconic Distillery District Winter Village this holiday season, as well as the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair.

It’s going to feel a lot like Christmas in the city this year and we could not be more excited.
