What a slice! Seattle has been named the top pizza city in the U.S.

Seattle is famous for a lot of things: coffee, the space needle… and now, apparently, pizza! A surprising and somewhat unusual study by Mandoe Media set out to discover the top pizza city in the U.S.
Imagine everyone’s surprise when it turned out to be Seattle!
Here’s what to know about Seattle’s newest claim to fame.
How cities were ranked
Mandoe Media evaluated the following factors and assigned each a ranking to create a pizza ‘score’ for each city:
- Rating: An average rating of all pizza places in the city from online review sites.
- Excellence: Out of those reviews, what percentage of reviews were rated ‘excellent.’
- Choice: The number of pizza places each city offers.
- Interest: The number of Google searches for “pizza” per 100,000 of the population.
Once they gathered those numbers, Mandoe created an overall ‘score’ for each city, weighing Rating at 25 points, Excellence at 15 points, Choice at 5 points, and Interest at 10 points.
We don’t know how scientific that is, but here are the results!
