Ok ok, so maybe you want to be a little more in the action than away from it. Alongside the top resort hotels in the country, a list of the top city hotels in Canada this year has come out as well. If you’re exploring a new city, visiting some pals, or just need to treat yourself one weekend, then definitely keep these in mind.
Like the resort roundup, the list is based on a survey from Travel + Leisure readers. To determine the list, readers were asked to rate hotels based on their “facilities, location, service, food, and overall value.” Yeah, that sounds like it sums it up nicely.

So, here’s what the survey determined for the top city hotels in Canada this year:
Much like the resort list, Fairmont is no stranger to having some of the most desirable destinations for city hotels. However, on the province side, Ontario has replaced Alberta for the nods, with picks in both Toronto and Ottawa replacing the Rocky Mountain destinations.
Even still, it’s the old-world meets modern day charm of Quebec and the high class touches in Vancouver and Victoria that continue to dominate the rankings.
