This Ontario harbour village is surrounded by crystal waters & majestic cliffs

This is easily one of Ontario’s most scenic towns. Surrounded by sparking turquoise water, national parks, and natural wonders, the harbour town of Tobermory is a destination worth visiting.

Perched at the northern tip of the Bruce Peninsula, the lakeside town is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts and adventurers.

Not only is it home to the world-famous Bruce Peninsula National Park but also the incredible Fathom Five National Marine Park, where two dozen shipwrecks lay waiting to be explored.

This region of Ontario is hoarding all of the natural wonders that make our province so spectacular, including the unique Flowerpot Island and The Bruce Trail, which was recently named one of the top 10 most timeless walking paths in the world.

Visitors can explore the shipwrecks and the Flowerpot on a glass-bottom boat cruise in the warmer months.

It’s also the jumping-off point to beautiful hot spots like Manitoulin Island, which you can get to via the Chi-Cheemaun across the Devil’s Gap.

Canada’s most southern town is in Ontario & it boasts warmer weather

Aside from outdoor excursions, there is plenty to see and do in the town of Tobermory.

That includes strolling through the quaint shops, art galleries, and ship chandlers, or dining at the wonderful array of pubs and restaurants serving fresh, locally caught whitefish.

According to the town itself, the best time to visit is actually in the fall, thanks to the minimal crowds and colourful scenery along the harbour.

The peace and quiet of the lake is the perfect opportunity to go for a kayak ride, especially with the slightly cooler and sunny weather.

All of this being said, we can pretty much guarantee that you will not be disappointed by a visit to Tobermory.
