Tim Hortons just launched a reusable and returnable cup pilot program in Vancouver in an effort to reduce single-use waste. Best of all? You’ll receive a discount on your order if you decide to participate!

So, how does it work?

First things first, you’ll want to download the ShareWares app. There are currently 30 return points scattered across Vancouver that you’ll want to make note of before purchasing your beverage.

Once you’re ready to go, head to any of the participating Tim Hortons locations and pay the $4 (plus tax) deposit to receive a reusable cup. Any small, medium, or large hot or cold drink works!

After you’ve used your cup, give the code on the back a quick scan using the ShareWares app. You can then return it to any of the restaurants or Return-It stations set up around Vancouver to be recycled.

You’ll receive a refund of your deposit via e-transfer within 48 hours of dropping off your reusable cup and lid.
