This historic Ontario village has a sandy beach & picturesque harbour

There’s nothing we love more than a beachy village to visit in the summer! Thornbury is at the base of the Niagara Escarpment, a quaint spot you can add to your list of places to visit in Ontario now that the weather is warm. Here’s what to do while you’re there.

According to Visit Grey County, Thornbury is small but has quite a bit to offer, “known for fine dining, great shopping, wonderful galleries and a great little beach and pier.”

Little River Beach Park and Thornbury Harbour are  the most popular places to visit in Thornbury, with the town’s website describing the area as “easily one of the prettiest Harbours on Georgian Bay.”

There’s parking and a picnic area meaning you can post up for the day.

If you need a break from the beach, the shores are just steps away from downtown Thornbury which features local shops, cafes and more.

Royal Harbour Resort is the place to go if you’re hoping to stay in Thornbury for more than just the day.
