Famous ‘National Lampoon’ Christmas house near Toronto lights up this week

We love to see a holiday classic come to life! Ontario’s very own Rusty Griswold Christmas house is returning for the holiday season this week and you’ll feel as if you’ve stepped onto the set of National Lampoon’s Vacation.

Every holiday season since 2015, the Burlington home transforms into an “animated gingerbread house” inspired by the 1989 Christmas movie. You’ll be able to watch the dazzling light show from the warmth of your car, accompanied by festive tunes on the radio.

“Watch the lights dance to the classic Christmas music from either the sidewalk or the comfort of your vehicle as we broadcast over an FM frequency,” the description says.

The lights will be on display starting this Friday, November 25th until January 1st, 2023.

It’s free to stop by and enjoy the show, but as a way of giving back, the Griswold house is accepting donations in support of SickKids.

Toronto is absolutely teeming with holiday activities this year. The Distillery District’s Winter Village and Canada’s Wonderland WinterFest are now open for the season, plus a brand new holiday experience that is said to be the most immersive in the city.

Now, round up your buddies and celebrate the season National Lampoon style!
