This Toronto winery is hosting a scholarship fundraiser in support of BIPOC wine professionals

Looking for a little *ahem* grape juice to get you through the quarantine? Want to support a great cause while you sip? We know just the spot. It’s Grape Witches wine shop! This awesome Toronto store is hosting an incredible scholarship fundraiser all month long.

So Grape Witches is a lovely little wine shop located in downtown Toronto. It was started back in 2015 by two women, Nicole Campbell and Krysta Oben, who have a passion for all things wine. These ladies are dedicated to creating and curating a space to share what the wine sommeliers are really drinking after work. Their shelves are stacked with natural wines that are sustainable, organic, biodynamic, and, most importantly, not available at the LCBO.

Along with selling wine by the bottle, they also host regular educational events and even offer a wine subscription.

Okay, back to the scholarship. So the fundraiser going on all April is the second of its kind by Grape Witches. The goal is to acknowledge and fight against specific barriers that Black folks face in the wine industry. All the money that is raised will be aimed at providing higher education and mentorship for BIPOC wine professionals.

So how can you support? It’s easy! First you can purchase a bottle (or a few) of your choosing from the awesome online or in-person shop. All month long, Grape Witches is donating $1 from every bottle sold to the cause.

Along with that, you can also enter the GW Scholarship Raffle. They’ve curated a gorgeous selection of 6 usually-sold-out wines, which you can win when you purchase a raffle ticket. 100% of the proceeds will go toward the scholarship fund. The raffle is open from now until midnight on Friday, April 16th.

An awesome cause AND delicious natural wines?? We’ll certainly raise a glass to that!
