We love a good hidden gem! Miller Island, a gorgeous little shop for vintage furniture and home decor, is tucked away in Creemore, Ontario, just outside of Collingwood. One look at this spot’s Instagram will tell you that it’s definitely worth driving out of the city for, but if that’s not enough to convince you, take it from the dynamic duo featured on Netflix’s Motel Makeover, April Brown and Sarah Sklash.

In the first episode of the series, the founders of the June Motel paid a visit to the shop to hunt for treasures for their latest venture, transforming a dilapidated inn near Sauble Beach into a dreamy getaway spot that would become their second location.

Brown described Miller Island as “the most amazing vintage shop in the most adorable little town” about an hour and a half drive from the June Motel Sauble Beach.

The ladies pick out a few items to furnish the motel’s residence apartment — a vintage bar cart for $150, a pastel pink decorative dish for $35, and an adorable couch that the owner priced at $400.

Miller Island is filled with all the unique and trendy gems you’d hope to find in a vintage furniture shop, like ceramic vases in neutral tones, woven baskets, accent pieces, ornate lamps, and mid-century modern furniture. It’s clear that every item is chosen and displayed with care.

Brown and Sklash also visited another specialty store in Toronto called The Apartment Vintage and its all-pink storefront is hard to miss. If there’s ever been a perfect excuse to give your space a glow-up, this is it.
