This recently reopened Alberta waterpark is FREE to check out this summer

This summer is going to get pretty spicy and soon we’ll all be looking for somewhere to beat the heat. Luckily, when it comes to lakes, rivers, and swimming holes we’re spoiled for choice, but there’s one summertime oasis that really sets itself apart from others. Located in Red Deer, Alberta, Discovery Canyon is a seasonal-must visit this year and the next – here’s why!

A local favorite,  this extraordinary spot recently reopened to the public, and once the heat hits – we’ll be so glad that it did.

With temperatures expected well above 30°C, Central Albertans will be able to hit their beach, the wading pools, and a fast-moving, not-so-lazy-river aboard a tube when it gets unbearable. The best part? Because the park is fed naturally by the Red Deer River, admission is totally FREE and all you’ll have to pay for are your rentals (which are only $5) and snacks.

Hoping to make a full day or weekend of it? Discovery Canyon also has a golf course, parks, green spaces, and a restaurant – sadly though, you’ll have to leave your furry friends at home as dogs are not allowed in the park.

Still interested? Well, of course, you are!

For more information or to book a tee time, check out their website below and start planning your perfect summer day.

Trust us, you won’t regret it! Enjoy!
