This quirky 1970’s Kirkland waterfront home for sale has a rare ‘sunken’ living room

We thought we’d spice our home of the week up a bit by taking things or to the Eastside. Because honestly, we don’t head that way much so we thought we’d take a peek at what’s available. And we have to say, this 1970’s home makes us reconsider staying in the city.

Home of the Week: 9002 NE 116th Pl

What makes this home so special is its insane amount of glass. The home has massive floor-to-ceiling windows that essentially make up the whole front of the house. Not to mention, the home features a sunken living room which is something we rarely see these days. Plus we like how much PNW appropriate wood is featured in this home.

However, this home has been through a lot of redos. We can see influences from pretty much every era since the 70s. So you’ll probably need to do quite a bit of tweaking to restore it to its glory. And at $1.15 million, it’s not exactly a fixer-upper price tag. But when all’s said and done, this home has a lot of potential.

At 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and over 2,000 square feet it’s pretty much the perfect sized home. Plus the lot has over 10,000 square feet of land so you’ll have plenty of outdoor space to enjoy. And of course, we can’t gloss over the fact that this home comes with its very own sauna and waterfront.
