This popular live music venue is holding a 3-day show & auction this weekend!

As if you need another reason to have a toe-tappin’ long weekend, a Calgary treasure just announced that they’re holding a virtual event that you can feel good about attending! Starting May 21st, vibe, donate and bid at the Blues-A-Thon Fundraiser, hosted by YYC’S Blues Can, a popular bar that (pre-pandemic) was the place for live music and a few drinks.

Featuring local and even international musicians, this 3-day event is meant to bring fans of the genre together again, while also promoting artists and supporting the venue itself.

As we’re sure you’re already aware, COVID has hit live events, bars and restaurants pretty hard and the Blues Can is no exception.

“We are all very proud that The Blues Can still exists and is quietly and patiently waiting for the day we can reopen properly and for good,” they say one their website. “We can feel ourselves holding our breath, trying not to get too excited when we hear the future may be about to start.”

“Alas disappointment reigns supreme as our hopes are dashed again and again… So now another great effort is required!”

This ‘effort’ comes to us in the form of an exciting event and auction where Calgarians can win incredible prizes, watch fresh performances and enjoy live music from the comfort of their own homes!

If you’d like to watch the FREE virtual stream please visit their website here, or if you’d like to donate or bid on their live auction you can do so here!

From signed guitars, merch, art, hockey jerseys and gift bags from Bath and Body Works, Big Rock and more, there’s a ton of incredible things to walk away with. Check it out, Calgary! You won’t regret it!
