This North Van theatre just opened an immersive walk-through experience

It’s been well over a year since the Presentation House Theatre hosted a major show, but it’s come back with a bang! This North Vancouver theatre has just opened up The Magic Hour, an immersive walk-through experience that has transformed not just the stage, but the entire space.

The Magic Hour was created by Kim Collier, written by Kendra Fanconi, and got help from Innovation Lighting in setting it up. By themselves or in pairs, guests will explore the theatre almost completely, which has been redone to resemble the rooms of a house.

Why a house? Well, because the point of the experience is not necessarily to tell a story (although there is a loose one there), but to encourage visitors to explore and ‘find beauty’ in domestic isolation. To help get you there, you can expect a variety of effects, ranging from mood lighting to projections to music and good old-fashioned text. Along the way, a narrator will help guide you through the experience.

It’s the best of both worlds, in our eyes! The immersive, set-focused base is sure to appeal to the art lovers out there. And, any theatre buff will know that some of the most interesting ‘plays’ around don’t take place just on the stage, but throughout an entire building.

So, whichever side you find yourself on, we think this is a great option in Vancouver! For more information and to get your tickets, just click the link below.
