As the weather warms and Toronto slowly begins to lift restrictions across the city, many are finding themselves at a loss when it comes to deciding what to wear. If you’re anything like us, you spent the last several months living your life in sweats, not thinking about fashion. We’re more than ready to get back out there, but we might not be so ready to give up cozy clothes just yet. That’s where fyethebrand comes into play.
This local and black-owned elevated loungewear business is serving up the cutest and coziest looks this summer. Fyethebrand was created by Toronto-born Julie K., a local entrepreneur making major waves in the fashion scene. Her brand first launched back in April, offering their O.G. lineup of sweatsuits in five distinct colours. At the time, the sweatsuits sold out in most sizes in under 20 minutes! Told ya this brand was impressive!

Fyethebrand is on a mission to bust the myth that dressing comfortably means you can’t look cute. The “fye” in fyethebrand stands for “for you, everyday.” It’s not just a clothing line. It’s a lifestyle. One made to make you feel “confident, unique, and put together, all while wearing your new favourite loungewear!”
Curiocity was lucky enough to catch up with fyethebrand’s founder, Julie K., to ask about her experience launching a clothing line during a pandemic.
“Work from home allowed most people to take a break from formal attire and hop into those cozy sweats and oversized T-shirts,” she said. “I truly love to wear loungewear but wearing it in public does not make me feel put together. I wanted to create an elevated loungewear look that was more socially acceptable and I quickly grabbed my sketchbook… a few months later, here we are!”
The #fyesummer line is set to drop on Saturday, July 3rd. It’ll include the cutest sweat shorts you’ve ever seen. Plus, a lineup of matching bra tops. If this drop is anything like their first, we’re sure the loungewear is going to fly off the shelves.
We’ll certainly be nabbing ourselves a pair!
