There’s a lot to love about Calgary, but one of our favourites? The people. Whether they are new to the city, or born and raised Calgarians, each and everyone brings something a little special to Cow Town. And that brings us to Born Colorado Brewing.
Although its namesake suggests otherwise, Born Colorado Brewing has always been local to Calgary. Part of the tight-knit brewing community in the Manchester Industrial area, BCB neighbours several other local craft bevy producers.
But before we dive into all that BCB has to offer, let’s see how it all began.
It started with owners Erin and Wade back in 2018. Founder and head brewer Wade, was born and raised in Colorado, whereas Erin is native to Calgary. Wade brought his passion for quality crafted beer to Calgary, and together they formed Born Colorado Brewing.
After opening up the taproom in 2018, BCB quickly started to gain momentum. The owners began to recognize that like Wade, many Calgarians had come from near and far before finally calling this place home. This is also part of what inspired the brand that we know and love, called Born Colorado Brewing. Because what better way to unite the community than to celebrate our roots, wherever they may lay!
Now let’s get to the brews.
Born Colorado Brewing prides itself on having a huge selection of craft beers to choose from. You can get your hands on a delicious Amber Ale, Golden Ale, Milk Stout or a classic IPA for all the beer geeks out there.
BCB is continuously pushing the envelope to bring us fresh, new and fun ales, stouts and lagers. You can expect flavours like jalapeño, earl grey, watermelon, and mint- and that’s just them getting started. The beloved Hi Cutie is back on shelves, and BCB has even more exciting beers to look forward to all summer long.
And speaking of summer, we obviously need to mention the patio. Recently expanded and ready to welcome you back for many sunny afternoons and maybe one or two (or three…or four…) crisp cold ones. If you need to shade your eyes, look no further than BCB’s merch shop.
From t-shirts to hats to toques, BCB has you covered- even on the onesie front. Yep, BCB even has an adorable Small Batch onesie for your soon-to-be beer-lovin’ little one.
We should also mention that BCB loves to see their merch out and about in the wild, so make sure you give ‘em a tag on IG the next time you’re rocking their swag!
Well, folks, you can probably pick up that we can’t say enough about Born Colorado Brewing. From their top-notch beer, unreal customer service, and welcoming taproom and patio, it’s safe to say that many summer nights will be spent here, sippin’ on some fine brews.
