This lakefront chalet you can rent in BC is the ultimate summer party paradise

There’s something magical about heading to summer camp, so we think an adult version of that is right up our alleys. Say hello to The Retreat at Camp Murray, an incredible property that’s less than an hour outside of Vancouver, but a world away. Of course, it comes at an incredible price as well.

At a price point that would make the Fairmont hotels blush, Camp Murray is available starting at around $17,500 for a 3-night, 4-day stay. Assuming all 8 people end up going, that’s around $2,200 per person, or just over $700 a night. Yeah, it’s not exactly a bargain deal.

But, we have to admit that you get a whole heckuva lot for it. The property is located near Iron Bay, which is at the northern end of BC’s stunning Indian Arm fjord. This rugged area is only accessible via boat or floatplane, which makes your stay even more exclusive. And yes, boat transport to and from the camp is included in the price.

You’ll be staying in the main lodge- a 4,200 square foot chalet with 6 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. With a focus on outdoor entertainment, there are multiple patios, a hot tub, and even a keg dispenser (sorry, but you have to provide the keg). After the sun goes down, take advantage of a huge projection TV wall for a movie night under the stars. Worried about cooking? Don’t be, since an in-house chef will take care of the meals.

As for daytime activities, the sky’s the limit. Your booking gives you access to the private beach, including your very own floating waterpark to jump around on. And if that’s not enough, a number of add-on options like jet ski rentals, fishing trips and sightseeing tours are also available to book.

So, if you’re looking for the pinnacle of summer fun in BC, this could very well be it. We’d look at it as a ‘last hurrah’ of local travel before the world opens up once more. Now, time to try and save some cash to actually get out there. Fingers crossed!
