It’s safe to say that Seattle has seen better days. The city is a bit of a mess right now, that’s probably even an understatement. And while we know it can be hard to find positivity with everything that’s going on, the Seattle Happy Places Map might just bring a smile to your face this week.
The Seattle Happy Places Map was created as part of the 2020 Seattle Design Festival. It’s a way for Seattleites to share the places that make them happiest. Best of all you can submit your own spot and join in on this super cool interactive community map. The map is all about places in the community that are inspiring, joyful, and recognize good design that might otherwise go unnoticed.

You can add to and interact with the map anytime but this month you can actually experience the map in a pop-up event! That’s right, Seattle Design Festival is back for 2021 and as part of it, you can go on Happy Hunts on August 22nd. For now, the details still remain limited but we’re assuming the hunts will utilize points already on the map.
Whether you explore the map on your own or check out the pop-up, this map is a great way to see the city through someone else’s eyes. And who knows, it might just help you get out of the funk that a lot of us are feeling right now as the city experiences this rough patch.
