This holiday season you can help support local food banks with A&W!

Spreading holiday cheer just got a lot easier, and a lot tastier! Right now A&W restaurants in Calgary and our surrounding communities are accepting food items and monetary donations for our local food banks! So if you’re swinging by for your favourite burger anyways, why not give back while you’re at it?

Canada’s own A&W loves giving back to their neighbours and we think this is the perfect way! Here are some easy ways you can help:

● Make a monetary donation either in-store or at the drive-thru
● Choose to round up your bill
● Head in-store to drop off non-perishables

That’s right, you can give back to our local food banks more conveniently than ever while picking up dinner. Talk about convenience!

Non-perishable items being accepted include:

● Pasta and sauces
● Peanut butter
● Canned soups, beans, vegetables, fruit, meat, and fish
● Rice
● Juice
● Cereal
● Baby food, infant formula, and diapers
● Pet food
● Hygiene products including shampoo, conditioner, hand soap and deodorant

Bring your donations to participating A&W restaurants in Calgary, Cochrane, Chestermere, and Okotoks from now until December 31. And best of all? The donations will go to the nearest partner food bank between Calgary Food Bank, Okotoks Food Bank Association, The Cochrane Activettes, and Chestermere Regional Food Bank, so you truly are giving back to YOUR community.

No one should ever go hungry, but especially not this year and especially not over the holidays. Local food banks are the first line of support for anyone facing a food emergency. It’s pretty much a no brainer, so grab yourself a teen burger (our fav) and help feed those that need a little extra help in the run-up to the holiday season!
