This historic Toronto theatre has converted into a top-tier wine & bottle shop

It’s been a difficult year for most Toronto businesses. We don’t need to tell you that. But when one city spot found themselves starting down imminent closures a year ago, they decided to pivot in the best way possible. We’re talking about Paradise on Bloor. This ancient theatre and historical Toronto spot has been up and running as an incredible wine shop.

To give a little background, Paradise on Bloor has been in the city for a very, very long time. It first opened way back in 1910, under the name Bloor Palace. Then in 1937, the place became known as Paradise Theatre, which it operated as until its semi-recent closure in 2006. After a bit of revamping, the spot reopened in late 2019. Needless to say, this joint has a ton of history behind it.

Of course, we don’t need to tell you what went down in early 2020. That’s a time period burned in all of our brains. But for a landmark like Paradise on Bloor, it was not a time period that could drag it down.

Today, you can stop by to enjoy a wide range of wines, spirits, and snacks. The selection is curated by the onsite restaurant Osteria Rialto and available for pickup at your convenience. As if all that wasn’t enough, they’re also carrying pies from Toronto’s Piano Piano and loads of other gorgeous Italian eats. We have to recommend trying their freshly baked focaccia.

So although we cannot wait for our day at the theatre to arrive, for now we’ll gladly take what’s being served up here. Paradise on Bloor is a definite must-hit.
