Located minutes from Calgary, this 7-acre, Rocky Mountain-facing home was built in 1999 by Randy and Laura Sawatzky with comfort and familiarity in mind.
Though they hadn’t originally planned to use their home or hospitality to hold larger gatherings, their vision of the property changed drastically after hosting a family member’s wedding.

Five years and a few additions later, they’ve become a venue beloved by brides and grooms, their guests, and holiday diners alike. Speaking of dining, The Ridge currently has Chef Xavier Lacaze running the kitchen, and with his resume, you know this food is incredible. While working at restaurants around the globe, Chef Lacaze even earned three years’ worth of experience at a two Michelin Star restaurant in Pujaudran, France. Now, he’s making The Ridge one of the Calgary area’s hidden food gems.
From their upcoming Easter feast, chef collaborations, and of course, family affairs, the Sawatsky’s have come to love having people in their home to celebrate, eat and stay the night.
