Remember the historical architectural beauty on the Niagara Parkway we know as the Niagara Parks Power Station? Well, the power station has been creating some serious sparks off late with its brand new experiences. First, they launched the immersive show, Currents: Niagara Power Transformed. And now they give us, The Tunnel!

180 ft underneath the power station’s hall now runs a 2,200-ft long tunnel that opens onto a brand new observation deck on the edge of the Niagara River.

The experience starts in the hall of the power station where you get on a glass elevator. The elevator drops down many levels giving you a view of the incredibly gigantic machinery that runs all the way down. It’s obvious from this drop that the hall is merely the tip of the iceberg.

Once down, you walk through the lit tunnel that cuts through the water that’s drawn from the river. And it leads you out onto the open observation deck that sits on the edge of the river itself. The deck is your only opportunity to be up-close with the mighty river without the Whirpool Aero Car.

Just ICYMI, Currents: Niagara Power Transformed, is a recently launched immersive light and sound show that takes place in the hall of the power station. The interactive show is a one-of-a-kind magical experience that truly brings the currents to life.

There’s a legit spotlight that follows your steps and when you interact with other spot-lit participants it forms a river and transforms into currents. It’s pretty darn amazing!
