What’s more American than BBQ? Probably only the flag itself. Well, if you yourself happen to be a huge BBQ fan then you’re going to need to check out the 1st Annual Famous Dave’s Washington BBQ Competition. Whew, that’s a mouthful! It’s happening later this month in Everrett and is probably going to be one of the tastiest events of summer.
To help you have a great late summer, Everett’s Famous Dave’s BBQ has teamed up with the Pacific Northwest Barbecue Association to host this new annual BBQ competition. And best of all, it’s happening in a family-friendly and safe parking lot party format. That means you can go solo, bring friends and of course, the fam.

Attendees will be able to watch as almost 30 teams compete to smoke the best meat. Teams will cook off in different categories including chicken, pork ribs, and brisket. Each of which will be judged by KCBS-certified BBQ judges. And to make things even more unique, Famous Dave’s will be providing the meats for the teams so that judges can really tell who knows how to smoke the best meat.
Teams are competing for a prize purse of $5,000 as well as a chance to land a team’s name on the menu at select Famous Dave’s locations. The biggest of all though is the chance to compete at the Daniel’s World Championship Invitational BBQ Competition and The World Food Championship. Who knew there were that many BBQ competitions?
Beyond the competition, attendees will also be able to nosh on Famous Dave’s BBQ, enjoy kids’ activities, yard games, music from radio personality B-Dub and 98.9 The Bull, and relax at a 21+ drink garden. Because you’re probably wondering, admission is free but you will have to purchase food and drinks.
