Are you ready to go all-out this on fine dining this October? Look no further than the upcoming ‘Dry-Aged Beef Appreciation Dinner’ at Gotham Steakhouse & Bar. At an absolutely insane cost of $595 per person, this is guaranteed to be the fanciest meal you’ve ever tried.

And the food will definitely live up to expectations. The 5-course set menu showcases some of the most expensive beef on the planet. Take the A5 wagyu (imported from Japan) aburi sushi dish for example, or the trio of 60, 120 and 200-day dry-aged prime rib steaks. Heck, the lobster dish alone comes with chanterelle, truffles and caviar.

Sadly, we can’t say the same for the wine pairings. While all of the picks are solid, they lack the same ‘wow factor’ as the food you’ll be eating. We don’t expect a magnum of Lafite Rothschild with the main, or d’Yquem for the lobster, but we could jog over to the BCL and find roughly the same quality as what you’ll be drinking. We can’t say the same for the food.

Which is really where food events like this get their footing. Who knows, maybe they’ll let you take a few bucks off if you agree to share your own bottles with the sommelier. Since these dinners require a minimum reservation of 4 people, you might have a little bargaining power.

Let us know how it goes, folks!
