Since last year’s lockdown, being a tourist in your own backyard is the new normal. Luckily, we are more than blessed within the borders of our province, whether it’s escaping in nature or feasting on the local dining scene. And coming up, there’s an event that celebrates this beautiful province and all the tasty stuff it has to offer!

Thanks to Alberta on the Plate, a 10-day, province-wide dine-around festival, you’ll have a hand in selecting the very best culinary experiences across Alberta!

From August 6-15, participating restaurants are offering multi-course, fixed-price menus highlighting local producers, growers, distillers, and brewers. This is your chance to savour produce at the peak of freshness, staged by the most talented creators in the province. Sound tasty? We think so too.

The variety of restaurants participating this year is straight-up impressive. From cozy cafés to fine dining establishments, in both urban centres like Calgary and rural communities like St. Paul. So you better fill your gas tank and get Google maps ready to plan a road trip with your foodie buddies to take advantage of all this 10-day event has to offer!

Here is the list of this year’s participants. Yup, that’s 85 totally drool-worthy local restaurants for you to discover, whether you choose to have a full-fledged dine-in experience or prefer to savour the deliciousness from the coziness of your home. Or anywhere in between- honestly.

So, what can you get exactly? Fixed-price menus start as low as $15. You can grab a 2-course lunch ($15-25), a 2-course dinner for $25-35, or better yet, a 3-course gourmet dinner for $65. That’s a freakin’ insane deal!

Local never tasted so good. So hop in your car and we’ll see you out there!
