Thanksgiving Monday is a mere week away, and there are a ton of ways to celebrate in and around Vancouver. While stat holidays mean possible closures, there are a handful of family attractions and day excursions to check out on Thanksgiving day – pre or post-meal. So with that in mind, here are some of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this Thanksgiving Monday (October 14th).

Harvest Days at VanDusen 

It’s autumn season once again at VanDusen, and the beautiful gardens are celebrating with their annual Harvest Days festival, complete with access to the botanical gardens, maze area, and festive photo-op areas. Visitors can enjoy tasty seasonal treats, live entertainment throughout the garden, and of course, take pictures with all of the fun fall decor.

Richmond Night Market

Thanksgiving Monday (October 14th) marks the last day of the beloved Richmond Night Market. So if you haven’t made your way through the hundreds of international food vendors, this is your last chance to check it out this year!

Over the long weekend, the market will operate from 7 pm to 12 am from Friday to Sunday, and until 11 pm on Monday, October 14th.

When: Every weekend until Monday, October 14th

Maplewood Farm 

Maplewood Farm in North Vancouver is home to 200 domestic farm animals, including sheep, horses, chickens, goats, and much more. Open year-round the farm offers visitors the opportunity to meet them all, and even feed the bunnies fresh fruits and veggies.

When: Open throughout October from 10 am to 4 pm

Canyon Frights

Capilano Suspension Bridge is transforming for spooky season, and you’ll be able to walk hand-in-hand with your date through a ‘frightful’ forest guided by haunted hosts – AKA the former owners of the park. The spirited pair will pop up throughout the park, adding a fun interactive element to your visit.

When: Friday, October 11th to 31st

Black Lagoon

If you’re a fan of themed drinks, a visit to the spooky Black Lagoon pop-up bar is definitely in order. Until October 31st, visitors can immerse themselves in a boozy, gothic experience at the Butcher & Bullock, and there’s still availability on Thanksgiving Day!
