We’ve got another long weekend coming up, and with that, the last of a couple of summer night markets, and the start of spooky season attractions. So with that in mind, here are 10 of the best things to do in and around Vancouver this weekend (September 27-29).

Cigarettes After Sex – X’s World Tour

Everyone’s favourite dream pop group, Cigarettes After Sex, is bringing their world tour to Vancouver this weekend, and you won’t want to miss it.

Scariest Corn Maze in Canada at Maan Farms

Called ‘Agatha Unseen,’ the newest ‘chapter’ of Canada’s scariest corn maze at Maan Farms will offer those who dare to visit an interactive experience that “pushes horror to new extremes.”

Guests will have three chilling attractions to choose from: The Kept Slaughterhouse, Forsaken: The Way Down, and Echo: Homestead – each promising “unforgettable terror” to all who enter. The question is, are you brave enough to enter?!

Olympic Village Comedy Classic 

The Arts Club Theatre Company is hosting a pro comedy showcase on the Newmont Stage at the BMO Theatre Centre this Friday, and we can’t think of a more entertaining way to kick off the weekend.

Indigenous Makers Market 

Residential school survivor Myra Ka’zez’semaka7 Pierre is hosting a market celebrating local Indigenous makers featuring beadwork and cedar weaving by Ka’zez’semaka7 Creations, Amber’s Beading, and more.

Thai Festival Vancouver 

From 11 am to 7 pm on Saturday, September 28th, the Vancouver Art Gallery square will transform into a full-day festival celebrating Thai heritage through food, music, dance, and art.

Ruby Waters 

Canadian singer-songwriter Ruby Waters is of Métis and Slovak heritage, and has been performing since the tender age of 13. Indie music lovers can catch her onstage on Saturday, September 28th

Omar Apollo – God Said No Tour 

Grammy-nominated artist Omar Apollo will bring his latest tour to UBC’s Doug Mitchell Stadium on September 29th.

Vancouver International Film Festival

This year’s Vancouver International Film Fest has over 350 movies from across the globe, and this weekend is a great time to see what’s playing.

Fort Langley Night Market

From Island Jerky to Kona Ice from Chilliwack, to kettle corn, to vintage finds from Urban Vintage, there are tons to discover at the Fort Langley Night Markets, and the last night market of the year is this Friday!

Junction Public Market 

The same can be said for Vancouver’s newest public marketplace, Junction Public Market. This weekend marks your last chance to peruse the rotating food trucks, artisan vendors, and enjoy live entertainment and the market’s ‘Sipping Container.’

Taking place at Granville Square until September 29th, Junction Public Market operates from Tuesday through Sunday from 11 am to 7 pm, including holiday Mondays.
