Another week, another roundup! We hope you’re ready to get out there and enjoy our beautiful city – come rain or shine. From Shakespeare in the park to improv shows, to skinny dipping at Wreck, here are 10 of the best things to do in Vancouver this week (June 13-17)
On Monday, June 13th, the world’s fave Marvel star is making his way to Vancouver on one of the last stops in his book tour, We Were Dreamers. (ICYMI, it’s Simu Liu). We can’t wait to learn about his experiences and maybe even get a little exposé on the world of Hollywood.

Yup, Bard on the Beach is finally back – and this week marks the official opening dates of the first Shakespearean play the festival will show: A Midsummer Night’s Dream. While the premiere on Thursday, June 16th is sold out, there are still tickets available for Friday, June 17th! Grab ’em while you can.

OURO Collective’s newest mixed media piece titled “7y98D” dives into the impacts of climate change through film storytelling and street dancing. It begins with a ten-minute short film directed by Dave Ehrenreich and Jeff Hamada, followed by a fifty-minute stage piece choreographed by RubberLegz and performed by OURO Collective. Lastly, there’s an art wear exhibition by Jennifer Latour.

It’s no secret that Mount Pleasant is home to some of the biggest names in local craft brews in Metro Van. Why not get the gang together for a couple of pints? It might not be the prettiest patio weather, but plenty of them are covered.

Join the folks at Momentous Comedy for an improv show like no other. Bring some friends or treat your partner to a chill night filled with laughs and magic puffs. Open to interpretation. Tickets are only available in advance and can be purchased online.

Bring a friend or a date to Contemporary Art Gallery and check out an exhibition this week. Currently, Abbas Akhavan and Michelle Bui have exhibitions going, or there’s the Curational Tour with CAG Executive Director Matthew Hyland, which previews all the summer exhibitions slated for this year. Pop in for a spell and learn more about what inspires contemporary artists in Vancouver!

Check out a Planetarium Star Theatre show at the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre this week – we promise you won’t regret it. In addition to stargazing, you can check out a science demo in their GroundStation theatre, visit the Observatory, and learn more about how astronomers use light to observe stars.
