We’re here for another fun-filled month and September is hitting the mark with all the things to do in Toronto. Don’t mind us, we’ll be outdoors this month, enjoying all the exciting things in Toronto from outdoor concerts, activities and more.

Toronto is gearing up for a big month and there’s so much to get excited about. And boy, we have a list for you!

2024 Toronto Dragon Festival

The final day of the Toronto Dragon Festival is on the first day of September during the long weekend!

The festival will feature showcases of the captivating lion and dragon dances, alongside “the awe-inspiring spectacle of acrobatic lion dances on high poles”. Plus, there will be a beer garden for those who want to enjoy a beverage or two.

Caribbean Street Food Festival

From games to delicious Caribbean classics like Doubles, Patty, Jerk Chicken and Ginger Beer – the Caribbean Street Food Festival has it all.

Promise Cherry Beach

What better way to spend your long weekend than with an all-day dance party on the beach?

Promise Cherry Beach is a fun-filled daytime summer electronic music festival series “that has been a cherished fixture on the Cherry Beach Park waterfront for 24 years,” according to organizers.

This annual event has a fully licensed beach bar and a stacked lineup of DJs ready to spin incredible tunes all day long.

When: September 2nd, 2024, 4 PM to 11 PM

I Heart Market Street

Market Street is hosting a free summer music series that ends mid September.

There will be plenty of concerts to choose from including Kaleb Hikele and Gareth Bush.

First Wednesdays at the AGO

Admission to the AGO is free the first Wednesday night of each month, between 6 PM to 9 PM.

Be sure to book your free General Admission tickets online in advance to ensure entry. Tickets are released online at 10 AM the Monday prior to the first Wednesday of every month.

TIFF Festival Street

TIFF season is here!

The star-studded festival is taking over our city in September! If you’re ready to do some celeb-spotting then you won’t want to miss the outdoor celebration – TIFF Festival Street.

Festival Street will occupy a large stretch of King Street outside of the TIFF Bell Lightbox theatre, from Peter Street to University Avenue and will feature fun, free activities for all ages, including the TIFF Art Market in partnership with Toronto Film School.

The partnership includes “Toronto’s local film festivals and arts organizations will have booths sharing art exhibits, programming information, and more.”

Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF)

It’s the most wonderful time of the year… in Toronto! The start of the 49th annual Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) is around the corner and the city will soon be taken over by celebrity visitors, events and must-watch movies.

NFL Canada Huddle

The NFL season is right around the corner and we can’t wait. It can be nice to post up on the couch and catch a game, but partying with fellow NFL fans sounds pretty good too. NFL Canada is bringing the party to Toronto, hosting multiple official viewing parties in the city this season.

Guests will have the chance to win official NFL swag, snap pics with the Vince Lombardi Trophy, check out local DJs at select viewing parties, and so much more.

Asianlicious Carnival

Get ready for something delicious! The Asianlicious Carnival is coming to Scarborough, with three days of food, performances and a spectacular fireworks show. The carnival is free to attend and is the perfect way to spend a day with friends or family.

Ube Wonderland Filipino Market Toronto

The Ube Wonderland Filipino Night Market is happening for three days this September from the 6th to the 8th.

The 2024 festivities will take place outside of Scarborough Town Centre by the Best Buy.

The event is put on by Pinay Tayo Toronto “a dedicated community organization that supports Filipino women small business entrepreneurs in the Greater Toronto Area.

Taste of the Kingsway 2024

Taste of the Kingsway is South Etobicoke’s largest street festival – a weekend of food, music and family entertainment!

Be sure to check out the beverage garden while visiting, too! Local brewer Great Lakes Brewery will be serving up yummy drinks.

Taste of the Junction

Get ready and come hungry! Taste of the Junction returns this September with over 20 different vendors participating.

On September 7th from 12 PM to 9 PM, Taste of the Junction will take over 51 Vine Avenue and all are welcome to indulge in mouthwatering foodie creations, drinks and more.

Looking for some fun ideas to close out summer in September? Toronto’s harbourfront will have a two-day night market you’re not going to want to miss out on. The Harbourfront Night Market will feature a lineup of eclectic food trucks, artisanal crafts and more. The best part? Admission is free!

Toronto Flower Market

The second last Toronto Flower Market of the season is happening in September so don’t miss your chance!

The market will have plenty of vendors selling beautiful blooms, a great way to spend a day with friends.

Third Tuesdays at the ROM

The ROM is free or everyone on the third Tuesday Night (4:30 PM to 8:30 PM) of each month.

There is no advanced booking necessary to attend, but admission does run on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Treasures Sale

For the third year in a row, the Toronto Reference Library is back with stellar deals on thousands of books.

We’re talking rare finds, antiquarian reads, and limited edition books, just to name a few.

Le Diner en Blanc Toronto 2024

Here’s a secret you’ll have trouble keeping. The internationally renowned ‘all-white’ secret dinner party is coming back to the city this summer. Le Diner en Blanc has announced its return to Toronto at a brand new secret location.

You must dress head-to-toe in white only. And take note, “elegance and originality are key, and prizes will be awarded for the best-dressed,” per organizers.

Dominoes

Now this is something worth getting out of your house for! For the first time in North America, this massive public art display of 8,000 human-sized dominoes will weave through Toronto this September.

The world-renowned company Station House Opera is behind this “moving sculpture” and it’s coming to Toronto on September 22nd at The Bentway.

The dominoes will be set up and knocked down over a 2.5 km distance. Visitors are welcome to head down and put their part in the building of the route across the city.

Sabrina Carpenter: Short n’ Sweet Tour

Pumpkins After Dark

It’s time to get ready for the fall season and what better way to celebrate than with a pumpkin festival? The Toronto PumpkinFest is back this October with unlimited midway rides, carnival games, food trucks and a pumpkin patch.

For four days this October, Downsview Park will host the annual Toronto PumpkinFest, welcoming guests from across the city with delicious eats, fun games and of course, pumpkins!

Yoga in Trillium Park

These free yoga classes at Trillium Park are taught by a certified instructor offering a mix of hatha and vinyasa yoga.

The MOCA offers free entry every Friday from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM. Guests can attend an exhibition, explore the historic building, and enjoy special events on select dates.

Aga Khan Museum Free Wednesdays

ROMWalks

ROMWalks is a collection of guided walking tours that take participants on a unique journey of “urban discovery” via the Royal Ontario Museum.
