There’s no fighting it anymore, the holiday season is here! There are markets all over the city and light displays ready to deliver the festive magic. Lean into it, with all the best things to do in and around Seattle this weekend.
Macklemore will be back in his hometown of Seattle for a special fundraising performance. The event at the historic Benaroya Hall will also highlight alumni performances, community speakers, and special guests. All proceeds go to support the year-round programming of The Residency, a non-profit that provides a space for creative exploration, professional growth, and personal development.

The Seattle Christmas Market is a magical Christmas experience with seasonal décor, tasty food, and drinks like beer and mulled wine, alongside a sprawling market featuring artisan vendors. And that’s just scratching the surface!

The perfect holiday night out does exist. Wander through a magical maze in search of Santa’s reindeer, glide across the ice-skating rink, or shop the Christmas market complete with food, music, Santa, and photo ops. Check the calendar for themed days and kids 3 and younger get in free.

Wonderland is a whimsical winter cabaret and burlesque show that promises “a glittering parade of nostalgia, exploding with dance, laughter, and all the cheer of yesteryear” at Can Can Culinary Cabaret. It’s definitely not your grandma’s Christmas theatre experience!

KEXP & Cloudbreak Music Festival Present: Smokey Brights 10-year Anniversary. The band has been growing out of Seattle for over a decade. Formed by friends working together at a pizza restaurant, they have their roots in Seattle’s DIY punk, songwriter, and psych scenes.

Julefest is an outdoor Christmas event with Nordic food, craft booths, kids’ activities, musicians, and a beverage garden, along with access to the National Nordic Museum. The event is free for children 12 and under, and there will be a night market on Friday night that’s 21+.

A giant hit on Broadway and winner of multiple awards, Wicked tells the story of the good and evil witches from The Wizard of Oz. Maybe it’s time to hear the other side of the story.

Come visit the Seattle Chinese Garden and see it transformed by celestial light. Follow the illuminated pathway and discover dazzling displays, astral song, and cosmic-inspired visions. It’s a mesmerizing dance of lighting, projection, and sound – it truly feels like “a visit from the stars!”

Enjoy black, green, or herbal tea along with sandwiches and sweets during the cozy Holiday High Tea for all ages at Seattle’s Hotel Sorrento.

It’s a whole new way to experience the Zoo! WildLanterns features stunning larger-than-life animal and nature lanterns like bugs, lions, pandas, parrots, and dragons. Wander through the display, get some snacks, and check out the live performance in the entrance building.

Live out your best adventure fantasy! The Tomb Raider Experience is a “cutting-edge immersive experience that guides players through a series of six rooms” during 90 minutes where you solve clues to escape the perilous Temple of Fire.
