We’re up for another Civic holiday this August and if the weather continues to be nice to us, we’ll be outside soaking up the sun. Thankfully there are tons of things to do in and around Toronto on August 5th, that will keep us entertained all day long.

Free Main Floor at the ROM

August is the last full month for ROM visitors to take advantage of free admission on the museum’s main floor.

The deal runs seven days a week from 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM with no ticket required.

National Bank Open

Due to the Olympics, the National Bank Open in Toronto starts a day later but you’ll be able to catch the Qualifiers on August 5th.

The 407 ETR Family Weekend is on August 4th and 5th, with free admission and no tickets are required.

Formula 1 Exhibition Toronto

If you’ve always wanted to get up close and personal with the race cars or even experience what it’s like to be behind the wheel, this is for you.

Guests can expect iconic F1 race cars from different eras, racing simulators and never-seen-before artifacts spanning six specially designed rooms in an over 20,000 sq. ft space.

Symphony in the Gardens

This Monday, enjoy an enchanting performance by the Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra inside the castle’s glass pavilion.

“Enjoy stunning views of the city, majestic castle and the beautiful estate gardens while listening to the Casa Loma Symphony Orchestra under the stars. Guests also have an abundance of al fresco food and drink options while onsite,” shares organizers.

Jambana One World Festival

Taking place just outside of the city in Brampton, this annual festival celebrates the sights, sounds, and flavours of the Caribbean.

The family-friendly event will feature food, music, arts, crafts, and incredible vibes.

Admission is free! It’s the perfect ending to Toronto’s Caribbean Carnival festival weekend.

Promise Cherry Beach

What better way to spend a holiday Monday than with an all-day dance party on the beach?

Promise Cherry Beach is a fun-filled daytime summer electronic music festival series “that has been a cherished fixture on the Cherry Beach Park waterfront for 24 years,” according to organizers.

This annual event has a fully-licensed beach bar and a stacked lineup of DJs ready to spin incredible tunes all day long.

Island Soul 2024

Get ready to soak up some island flavour, food, music and dancing at the Island Soul festival.

Expect an array of Island flavours through a unique blend of music, film, food, comedy, multidisciplinary arts and cultural activities.

Team Canada FanFest

According to the Canadian Olympic Committee, “Team Canada FanFest will offer Olympic fans the opportunity to watch the Games with family and friends, Olympic athlete appearances, and live performances featuring Canadian music artists.”

The family-friendly free pop-up is happening from August 2nd – 5th at CF Shops at Don Mills.

Canadian Food Truck Festival – Toronto

Woodbine Park will transform into a foodie paradise as food truck masters will serve up some serious eats. Stop by the park on the holiday Monday for its last day savoury eats to sweet treats.

And the best part is that admission is free. So that means you can stroll through the park and explore all the mouthwatering options without breaking the bank.
