Happy first weekend of fall! Looks like it will be the perfect fall weekend, so to kick off the new season, why not head out and enjoy some activities in the city? Here are the top things to do in and around Edmonton this weekend.
The Edmonton International Film Festival (EIFF) celebrates diverse cinema in theatres right here in the city. Enjoy 10 days of films that will make you laugh, cry, and maybe even leave you inspired.

Young and old alike can appreciate the value of a good corn maze during the start of fall. And honestly, the Edmonton Corn Maze is amongst the best in the country. Massive, and featuring a new design every year, a trip here is going to be a breath of fresh air (literally) this month.

Well it’s cozy season, which also means it is almost NHL season! The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Edmonton Oilers for this weekend’s preseason game.

Want to try grape stomping? Viva Italia District Association is hosting an Alberta Culture Days event with a free, outdoor family festival in the heart of Little Italy. Expect performers, music, kids activities, and food trucks.

The super-popular Deadmonton Haunted House has returned, with not one but two super scary experiences. First up? Icons of Darkness, a silver screen inspired experience that promises to have you become “the star of a grisly finale” as you “meet your deepest fear in the flesh”. Following that, and in the same vein, the other experience is called Return of the Living Dead, and we’re pretty sure we can guess what it’ll be about.

According to the University, “U of A Days is an open invitation for absolutely anyone to come out and celebrate our connection to the Edmonton community and beyond.” The weekend festivities will include alumni, students, faculty and staff, and filled with fun, games, music, learning and discovery!

Oh goodness, it’s OhGeesy. A rising star in the hip-hop genre, OhGeesy was part of the Shoreline Mafia group, before kicking off on his own when they disbanded.
