From musical and spooky events to the return of hockey (and one big outdoor game), there’s something for everyone to enjoy while the weather cools off. Here are the best things to do around Edmonton this October.

Daniel Caesar

Multi-platinum GRAMMY Award-winning singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Daniel Caesar is on his global outing- Daniel Caesar Presents Superpowers World Tour. And he stops in Edmonton this month.

DARK: Fort Edmonton Park

On select nights from October 6 to 29, you’ll be able to face your biggest fears in Edmonton!  Dark at Fort Edmonton Park has new haunting experiences at its event, which is celebrating 6 years of terror. “Survive a horde of undead in a defenceless frontier town. Escape the deranged killer clown whose grand gesture is murder. Dare to discover what nightmares are made during  the witching hour,” states the event. We are scared just reading that.

Deadmonton Haunted House

The super-popular Deadmonton Haunted House has returned! Celebrating 10 years of scary the pants off of nearly everyone who attends, this year’s event will take place at the old Edmonton Sun building and feature 3 chilling experiences.

Florasonic- a BWDC Fundraiser at the Muttart Conservatory

Florasonic is a music party which activates each pyramid at the Muttart Conservatory with a different sonic experience, and it is also a big fundraising event. Get ready to dance, while enjoying treats, drinks, and a silent auction.

Haunted Pumpkin Festival

The Haunted Pumpkin Festival at Prairie Gardens Adventure Farm kicks off on the first weekend of October and is on until the end of the month! You can check out this spooky outing to the pumpkin patch where you will find a Pumpkin Cannon (really!), a ghost town with Ghost Walks to the Elm Street Cemetery, and if you are brave – don a mask to creep through the Haunted Farm House. Save $5 when you get your tickets online!

Edmonton Oilers

It’s almost hockey season, and the Edmonton Oilers are hosting several home games. From two preseason games, to the home opener, hockey fans can definitely get those jerseys out!

Spruce Ridge Scare

Get ready to be spooked, every weekend this October! Spruce Ridge Scare is a family owned and built Haunted House located at #287 Spruce Ridge rd. in Spruce Grove! The family charges either $5 a person (a donation for men’s health), or one non-perishable food donation per person (for the parkland food bank).

Guns N’ Roses
