There’s a gorgeous lit-up winter trail you can explore just outside of Toronto

The only thing better than a winter hike is a winter hike surrounded by gorgeous, twinkling lights. Seriously, if you thought the snow was pretty, wait ’till you see this. Winterlit Trail is an incredible outdoor path that’s decorated beyond belief. It’s only about an hour outside of Toronto and it’s the snowy escape you’ve been dreaming of.

So Winterlit is located right smack in the middle of the Mountsberg Conservation Area. This Halton region park is home to a ton of beautiful trails. Along with this illuminated path, they’ve also got the lit up Sugar Bush Trail nearby. That path features soft, overhead lighting that’s perfect for a winter stroll.

Okay, back to the Winterlit Trail. This outdoor walkway features loads of lights and beautiful art instillations. The instillations are made from up-cycled, reclaimed material from old ash trees. The trees had to be removed because to curb the spread of the invasive Emerald Ash Borer.

Of course, we can’t in good conscious tell you to travel during the current lockdown. But if you’re reading this from the Halton Region, be sure to check the Winterlit Trail out! Those of us here in Toronto will just have to wait until the COVID-19 situation clears up a little bit.

You can book your reservation on the trail right here.
