There is a giant driftwood mastodon hidden somewhere in BC’s forests

If you’ve ever fancied the idea of hunting for a mythical creature you can now do that in BC. But the creatures you’ll find actually once walked the earth, it’s just now extinct. But thanks to artist Guthrie Gloag, BC has its very own American Mastodon.

This Mastodon is very unique in that it’s actually made out of driftwood. Gloag has kept the Mastodon’s location a secret as he is afraid of its second “extinction”. After all, we can totally see something like this becoming a major Instagram or TikTok destination.

But if you do happen to stumble upon it, it’ll be hard to miss. Because the statue is over 8 1/2 feet tall at the shoulder and most likely weighs over 2000 pounds. Basically, it’s massive.

If you do happen to come across it, please leave it be. Because the artist would like this Mastodon to be a symbol of conservation. If you’d like to learn more about this piece and other pieces you can click here. With that, have a great weekend, and if you go exploring stay safe.
