The world’s largest escape room is hiding inside this Canadian Cold War bunker

“You are on the final guided tour of the day, when you and your friends duck into a room and hide so that you can spend a night at the museum. You soon discover that it is not a museum at all. It is actually a cover for an enemy spy organization. You overhear some people talking behind closed doors of an imminent attack scheduled for tonight!” Welcome to the Diefenbunker.

Did you know the world’s largest escape room is right here in Canada? Nobody really talks about it because nobody escapes. Kidding, but this escape room is unlike any other you’ve tried.

In fact, it’s unlike any escape room out there, because its original purpose was to protect Canada’s most key figures during a nuclear attack. We’re serious.

Did you know? The oldest pool of water on earth is in Ontario

In Canada’s Diefenbunker Cold War Museum in Ottawa, a 25,000 square feet bunker built during the Cold War has been converted into an escape room. You’ve got to solve riddles, find clues, and evade the enemies if you have hopes of getting out (y’know, before time’s up).

The escape room is award-winning, with accolades from the Ontario Tourism Awards of Excellence and the Ottawa Tourism Awards.

To get out, you and up to 11 of your closest friends must find the communications room, stop the launch sequence, and phone in the Red Alert transmission to the outside world before it’s too late! There’s no bigger escape room anywhere, and we think we’re up for the challenge.

Ooooh, we only got 60 minutes to save the world! Want to join?
