If you weren’t aware, a nationwide poutine festival called La Poutine Week went down at the start of February. And restaurants from all over Canada decided to join in. Now, the votes have been counted, and the winners revealed! Curious about which spot in your city does great poutine? Read on.
We do have a small disclaimer- since these are ‘specialty poutines’, this isn’t a de facto guide on Canada’s best poutine spots. Instead, this list is more for those who take the beauty of classic poutine and find the perfect dish to pair it with.
So, let’s see what this year’s winners dreamt up:
Vancouver- Dry-Aged Duck Poutine from Bells & Whistles
Edmonton- The Bulgogi from La Poutine
Calgary- Braised Beef Short Rib Poutine from Shoe & Canoe
Toronto- Valentine Putin from Texas Longhorn
Montreal- Kimcheesy from La Belle Tonki
Congrats to the winners! It’s not every day you can claim that your poutine is a fry above the rest. If you’re curious to see the full list of winners, then you can check them out right here.
