Calgary has no shortage of amazing restaurants and while they all deserve their flowers, some are more decorated than others.

From the United States and Canada to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, the Distinguished Restaurants of North America (DiRōNA) has recognized several eateries for their exceptional service and amazing execution – but they’re not easy to come by here in YYC.

This week, The Wilde in the Dorian Hotel received the Achievement of Distinction in Dining Award, only given to one other hot spot in Calgary.

Being awarded the DiRōNA Award is a testament to The Wilde on 27’s dedication to providing our guests with a heightened experience and extraordinary cuisine,” said Ian Jones, Complex General Manager of The Dorian Hotel.

“DiRōNA is not just an impressive accolade, but a proof of excellence. I am so proud of our Restaurant Director, Ms. Brye Ponto and our Chef de Cuisine, Mr. Kyle Opel for their passion and dedication setting new standards for fine dining in Calgary.”

As for the other spot that holds the title? Teatro, a fellow inner-city must-visit with 5-star Italian food, a wine cellar with over 10,000 bottles and beautiful decor.

Want to check them? We’d recommend making a reservation ASAP as Teatro and The Wilde can get rather busy.

Also, for a unique night out, consider buying a ticket for Le Petit Chef, an event featuring a six-centimetre master of the culinary arts.

Have fun and bon appétit!
