The U of A Botanic Garden’s Luminaria returns for the season this month

Already planning your Christmas decorations and creating a holiday playlist (with a special focus on Michael Buble and Mariah Carey)? Rejoice! For the wondrous Luminaria experience at the U of A Botanic Garden is set to kick off once more this November. The stunning attraction will be transforming some of the best parts of the garden- here’s what to expect.

This year, there are a few different parts of Luminaria that every visitor needs to experience. First up is the Kurimoto Japanese Garden, which will have candle-lit pathways that are perfect for a relaxing stroll. And it’s made better by acapella singers!

Then, take a breather by the fire and visit the ‘Wish Treet’, which encourages positive messages to the world. Or, walk down ‘Memory Lane’, where you can light a candle for a loved one.

However, it’s the Aga Khan Garden that we look forward to the most. This part will feature a ‘joyful animated light display set to music’, alongside a new sculpture highlighting Indigenous experience and even a ‘Snow Queen’ to interact with.

Feel like a lot of stuff? It is! Which makes a trip to the Patio Cafe for a warm drink and some seasonal treats all the better during your breaks. It’s the full experience, and we can’t wait to enjoy it!
