When you think of GRETA, you probably think of arcade games, dancing, and a heck a lot of cocktails. Sure, over the last year and a bit, it’s undoubtedly become one of Edmonton’s hottest nightlife spots. Now, GRETA is the only spot downtown where you can roam freely, as long as you’re wearing a mask and following physical distancing rules. That means you can come and go from the arcade games as you please, making a trip to GRETA feel as close to pre-COVID life as possible.

But, let’s take a minute for some serious food appreciation because GRETA just launched their new menu and it is bomb. GRETA’s always been known for its locally sourced ingredients, and freshly made street food eats. The Street Nuggets, GRETA Burger, Arancini Cheese Balls, and Bao Buns have served us well- and don’t stress, they’re not going anywhere. But, they’ve given the menu a glow-up with refined flavours taking street eats to heights that Edmonton has never seen.

Alright, so here’s the scoop on our picks from the new menu that you can’t skip on.

Korean Short Ribs: Tender AF and coated in an ooey, gooey, gochujang glaze, and topped with sesame seeds and green onions. The perfect plate to share over a couple (or a few) pints of beer!

Green Coconut Curry: On its own for only $11 (yes, $11), or level up with some chicken or shrimp. Either way, this ultra-flavourful curry served with spinach, peppers & jasmine rice is the perfect dish to warm up with on a cold day (or any day).

Grilled Jerk Chicken Skewer: Thankful for Chef Taylor at GRETA for adding this dynamite dish to the menu. This killer combo has jerk marinade, habanero, chicken wings, all spice, rice pilaf, and a carribean bbq sauce, so basically all the fixin’s to keep summer going all year long.

Chimichurri Steak: The best steak you’ll ever get in an arcade bar. Thinly sliced, and served with chimichurri, roasted red pepper and sundried tomato pesto, grilled crostinis with roasted potatoes. AKA a dish so flavourful that even Guy Fieri would be proud.

Shrimp Pad Thai: Packing a punch of flavour, this dish is oh-so-welcomed to the new menu. It’s got all the elements of a traditional pad thai, but leave it to GRETA to level it up with their own unique take.
