Alright Edmonton, gear up for a fully loaded summer of fun. One of the hottest spots in town is getting even hotter (or cooler, in another way). Enter: ICE District! And they’ve launched Summer Solstice, a series of seriously fun (and free) summer events is coming to the very heart of the district at the ICE District Plaza.

After the Canada Day celebrations, the plaza will begin to host a TG ICE Friday Concert Series,  the ultimate after-work patio party with live music. Every Friday starting July 8, the plaza will turn into a musical paradise with live bands and DJs from 3 pm – 7 pm. And to give our weekend a perfect start, this massive al fresco patio will also have tons of games. Expect Giant Jenga, Bean Bag Toss, Pink Pong tables and Basketball hoops among others.

And, the summer fun doesn’t stop there.

On July 23rd, the plaza will host the debut of the Immersive Cinema Experience, an adult-friendly, outdoor movie night that’s got more to offer than a night inside a theatre. The plaza-turned-al-fresco-cinema will screen cult classics from 7 pm to 11 pm, starting with Wayne’s World for the first show. AND they will be serving themed food and bevies. Just remember to bring your own chairs.
