The Handmaid’s Tale stars are sharing photos in Toronto as show films its final season

“The Handmaid’s Tale” stars are in Toronto! The show is gearing up for its final season, famously filmed in Ontario. The stars of the popular series have been posting photos in Toronto over the last week and while it hasn’t been confirmed that filming is taking place in the city it appears that they’re here and excited about it.

Here’s what we know so far.

Postings

A handful of “The Handmaid’s Tale” stars have taken to social media to share that they’re in Toronto right now including Yvonne Strahovski who plays Serena Joy.

Strahovski posted to Instagram, sharing a photo of the CN Tower captioned, “Toronto wanderings.”

Co-star Ever Carradine, who plays Ever Carradine commented on the post writing, “Get back to work!” – perhaps a hint that they’re working on something here…

Carradine also shared on Instagram that she is in Toronto posting a story pointing to the CN Tower with the caption, “right where I left her”.

Janine Lindo is played by actress Madeline Brewer, and while it doesn’t confirm she’s in Toronto specifically, she shared a story showing a Canadian classic snack, ketchup chips.

Brewer captioned the story, “We are back baby”.

Final season filming

Where filming is happening hasn’t been confirmed but we do know it has begun!

Hulu shared a photo on social media on September 6th showing one of the stars, Elisabeth Moss, on set with a caption that reads, “Guess who’s back? Production on the final season has officially started. #TheHandmaidsTale will return Spring 2025.”

According to Destination Ontario, the Toronto locations that have been a backdrop for the series in the past include:

  • Toronto City Hall
  • Ripley’s Aquarium
  • St. Lawrence Market
  • Beanfield Centre in Toronto’s Exhibition Place

We can’t wait to check out the final season of “The Handmaid’s Tale” and if you’re in Toronto, maybe keep your eyes peeled.
