The Grinch is on the loose at a night market food fest near Toronto this weekend

Keep your eyes peeled for a very green and grouchy celebrity guest at Mississauga’s night market this weekend. Square One is hosting a weekend-long holiday festival called Frost Bites, featuring delicious eats, festive vibes, and a mean old Grinch.

Wander your way through a sparkling winter forest, drop off a letter to Santa in the giant on-site mailbox, and bring your appetite for the endless variety of dishes you’ll get to try.

Some of the vendors include Chen Chen’s Hot Chicken, Lemon Bar, Donia’s Donair, 6ix Donutz, Cheesecake In Tha 6ix, The Brothers Indian Streetfood, and many more.

The festival is completely free to attend and runs all weekend long, but you’ll only be able to Grinch for a couple of hours each day.

He’ll be sneaking his way around the festival from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday, December 17th, and from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

If you don’t get a chance to see him at Frost Bites, you can stop by The Grinch’s Grotto inside Square One until December 24th.

If you haven’t gotten your fill of holiday cheer by the time you leave the festival, you’ve got plenty of options for Christmas-themed activities nearby. Just a short drive away at Meadowvale GO Station, you’ll find the massive Journey into Enchantment drive-thru light show.

Further west of Mississauga is Burlington’s real-life National Lampoon Christmas house that looks exactly like the Griswold home in the movie.

And of course, there’s no shortage of festive activities all over Toronto this month, including the Polar Winter Festival at Exhibition Place, holiday-themed pop-up bars, and the Distillery District Winter Village.

If you happen to see the Grinch in Mississauga this weekend, be sure to tell him that we Ontarians can’t afford to have our Christmas stolen this year.
