‘Tis the season for giving, lending a hand and improving the lives of others. This week, all-star skater and local legend Elladj Baldé (known by many of you for his insane Instavideos) will host and perform in Ice Rinks For Inclusion; a fundraising event featuring Olympic Gold Medalist, Kaetlyn Osmond and Canadian champion, Nam Nguyen.
In celebration of the new Temple Community Skating rink and to commemorate the launch of Skate Global, a new foundation created by Baldé and renowned choreographer Michelle Dawley, this event will be held in hopes of raising money to build and upgrade rinks in underserved communities across Canada.

With a live DJ, and an opportunity to skate alongside Baldé, Osmond and Nguyen, Rinks For Inclusion is not one to be missed; after all, what’s better than having fun and watching crazy talented people do unreal things in the name of an incredible cause?
“Accessibility has always been one of the primary reasons for the lack of diversity of BIPOC in the sport of figure skating,” said Baldé in an Instagram post. “This is an initiative that is very close to my heart.”
If you’d like to check it out for yourself, the event starts at 4 pm on Friday, December 17th and will be open to everyone with a suggested donation of $20. Skates for the post-show ice time will also be available on-site for rental.
Of course, because there are some of you who won’t be able to make it, but would still like to contribute, you can also check out the donation link here.
This is going to be one crazy show, folks – so mark this one down. We hope to see you there!
