The Fraser Valley’s newest sunflower farm has opened for the summer

Ready for a little bit of summer fun in the Fraser Valley? Well then, you’ll be happy to know that a new sunflower farm is now officially open to visitors! Although new for this year, Lakeland Flowers is part of a much longer family farm heritage. Let’s check it out.

In fact, the farm has been in operation ever since 1974 and grows a variety of flowers. The original focus was tulips but has expanded to daffodils, peonies, and of course, sunflowers. When the original owner retired, his sons decided to share their land, and they created Lakeland Flowers.

What’s more, this farm doubles as a U-Pick! That’s right, in addition to wandering through 10 acres of stunning sunflower fields, you can also pick a couple (pre-cut) stems for yourself to take home. We’ve heard of bringing back tulips, but sunflowers? That’s a fun twist.

You can check out the sunflowers at Lakeland Flowers throughout the rest of the summer. So, keep it in mind the next time you’re planning a day trip!

Lakeland Flowers

When: Open until September
Where: 39171 No 4 Road, Abbotsford
Cost: $10+ (online pricing, includes pre-cut flowers to take home)
