TELUS STORYHIVE is supporting new and emerging digital content creators with $10,000 to produce a local video series

Do you have an amazing idea for a docuseries, cooking show, or educational content for kids?  Well, then we have good news, because the TELUS STORYHIVE Voices program is back and it is all about supporting local talent. 

The best part is you don’t need to live in a big city or have any experience to apply!

STORYHIVE supports new and emerging digital content creators in B.C. and Alberta. Whether you’re a TikToker or YouTuber looking to grow your audience, or you’re brand new to content creation and have lots of ideas, this could be your chance to turn your ambitions into reality. 

The Voices program is looking for digital content creators to produce a 6-10 episode grassroots series that reflects your local community. Whether that’s a lifestyle show, docuseries, or educational kids’ content – the choice is up to you!

Here’s a quick look at which episodic, non-fiction content forms are eligible:

  • Episodic 
  • Non-Fiction
  • Kids Content 
  • Trivia Shows
  • Gaming Shows
  • Talk Shows
  • Variety Shows
  • Crafts/DIY
  • Cityscapes
  • Vlogs
  • Lifestyle shows, *Reality TV, “How-to” docs

Selected applicants will receive $10,000 in production funding along with customized online training sessions, access to a community of support and distribution to over 1 million viewers on TELUS Optik TV and STORYHIVE’s YouTube channel.

“We encourage all new and emerging creatives in B.C. and Alberta to apply! STORYHIVE Voices supports a variety of content that can be produced into an episodic series,” says Shaun Cathcart, STORYHIVE Southern Alberta Territory Manager. “In the past, we’ve seen a series about young Filipino-Canadian artists in Calgary, a game show that focuses on film and video professionals and so much more! Voices is all about sharing your local stories, and you don’t have to be from a big city to apply.”
