Like escape rooms and drive-ins, interactive showrooms are having their moment in the sun and man, do we want to bask in the light. Next month, hot off the success of their last mesmerizing exhibit, Calgary’s Telus Spark Science Centre will launch Quantum Sandbox, a pixelated experience of colour, sound and movement.
Described as an infinite space where science and art meet, Spark’s permanent digital art gallery is the first of its kind in Canada, with new and inventive shows created seasonally.

During Quantum Sandbox, Calgarians will be able to play with wall-to-wall projections and explore the ‘subatomic’ world.
“Immerse yourself in a state of flux, a quantum state that has intriguing connections to local Indigenous world views,” they say on their website. “Quantum Sandbox might just change your view of the world … or at least open things up.”
Produced by the Telus Spark and Olivier Goulet, co-created by Eden Creative Studio as well as Supply and Demand Studio, and with the help of Kainai Elder, Dr. Leroy Little Bear and Siksika physicist Rob Cardinal, admission to this unique show are included in general admission and free to members.
If you’re interested in checking it out, Quantum Sandbox opens March 1st, 2022 and tickets are available now.
