North America’s largest indigenous-led development to be built outside of Calgary

Alberta is known for some incredible buildings, communities, and developments – but few are as historic as Taza, a Tsuut’ina project just outside of Calgary.

At 1,200 acres, this 10 km multi-use space is on its way to becoming the largest indigenous-led development not just in Canada, but all of North America.

With Costco already up and running, the first phase is well underway but they’ve got a long way to go!

In addition to the big box store, they will also have a Metro Ford, residential buildings, a smart farm, and an entertainment complex, as well as ‘The Shops at Buffalo Run,’ which is slated to open in the fall of 2022.

A true expression of Tsuut’ina wisdom and values (honoring mother earth, culture, language, and traditions) this incredible feat will not only be a great place to shop, support local and grab a bite to eat – it’ll be a great place to take a walk as well!

Here, guests can take a leisurely stroll along the Mattamy trail – one of the largest pathway systems in the world.
